Shipping Information
 
 

We currently offer three shipping options within the continental United States:
1. Standard - Temporarily unable to guarantee holiday delivery after 12/11
2. Expedited - Faster but unable to guarantee holiday delivery after 12/11
3. Customer Pick Up To take advantage of customer pickup, you need to place your order by phone with the local store. For a complete list of stores around the country, click the "Store Locator" button at the top of the screen.

The cost for shipping an order placed online is based upon your total order amount. A shipping charges matrix can be found on the shopping cart pages of the website, under "shop".

Orders are processed and shipped during regular business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM, excluding holidays). If we encounter any problems processing or shipping your order you will be contacted within two business days.

Shipments to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO
We currently do not ship APO/FPO.

International Shipping
We currently do not ship Outside of the Continental United States.    


Refunds & Exchanges

Canceling an Order
You may cancel an order at any time prior to processing at our stores by calling the store listed on your order. Unfortunately, we are not able to cancel orders once they have been shipped. Please refer to our Returns Policies for easy returns.

Returns
We strive for 100% Customer Satisfaction on all products. If you are not satisfied, we will be happy to replace or refund the amount of your purchase**. Within 30 days of receipt of your shipment (including gifts), you may return your purchase for any reason, for a full refund or replacement. (We'll also refund the shipping cost if the return is a result of our error.)
We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. You can expect a credit to your credit card account within 7 to 14 business days of our receiving your return. Please note that we can refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error.

**NOTE: If an item indicates that it ships directly from a manufacturer, it cannot be returned unless it is defective. All items that ship directly from the manufacturer are final sales.

Packaging Your Return
Just a few simple steps:
1. Refer to your packing slip (which is found in the original packaging) for complete instructions on processing a return.
2. Contact the Learning Express store listed on your packing slip to request a Return Authorization Number (RA #) and a return code.
3. Pack the items along with the packing slip (receipt) securely in a box. You can use the box the items arrived in or another box, if you prefer.
4. Affix the shipping label from your packing slip to the outside of the box.
5. Bring the return to the Post Office for shipping.
Mail returns to: Store address specified on your packing slip.

Lost Your Packing Slip?
Don't worry!
Write a note telling us how you want to handle the return. Would you like us to exchange the item or issue a credit or other? (please explain)

Contact your Learning Express store to request a Return Authorization Number (RA #).

Let us know why you are returning the item (for example: damaged product, wrong age,etc.).

Specify the name and address to which we should send your exchange.

Please give us an email address, fax number or telephone number (specify day or evening) in case we have questions.

Ship your return to the store location noted on your order.    


Learning Express Privacy Policy

Learning Express, Inc. knows that giving us information about yourself, or making an on-line purchase is a decision that requires a great deal of trust, and it is our goal to earn and maintain your trust. We promise you that we will respect your privacy and maintain the security of any information you share with us. We believe that it is your right to know, before you register or shop with us, what information we collect from you, how we use it, who else sees it and how we can both protect it. We've outlined the details of our commitment to you, our valued customer, below.

1. What information do we collect from our customer when you visit our web site?

The information we collect is designed to help us personalize and improve your experience at our Learning Express stores and Learning Express website. The information we may gather includes:

Registration Information: When you choose to register with Learning Express, we may ask you to provide us with contact information (like your name, mailing address and e-mail address), and demographic information (like relationship and interests). Learning Express won't send you any content unless you have specifically told us that you were interested in receiving it.

Order Information: When you choose to make a credit card purchase at a Learning Express store or website, we may gather your name, billing address, ship to address, phone, fax, email address, password (if using website), order detail information and credit card information. All the information is stored except your credit card information, where only the 4 last digits are stored. During the checkout process this information is handled as follows: Billing information is sent to a third party credit card processing agent for verification. After authorizing your purchase, this company stores information in their database for future reporting purposes. Your shipping address and the shipping addresses of people to whom you send gifts are received by the Learning Express retail store fulfilling your order. On-line, this information is sent in an encrypted and secure format.

If you ordered on-line, once your order has been processed, Learning Express will send you an e-mail confirming your order.

Franchise Form: Information collected during the on-line franchise application process is not stored in an automated system. The information is reviewed by Learning Express for follow-up and is not shared with third parties.

Automated Information: We track IP addresses online, however are not currently using them for any purpose. We will disclose to you, in advance, if this changes. Like many sites, Learning Express does use cookies to track your shopping cart, deliver content and product information to you, and save your shopping basket, and other services we individualize for you. A "cookie" is a small, unique identifier text file that is stored on your hard drive. With the cookie on your drive, we will recognize you when you return to our site, and can offer you these custom features. You should know that you have the ability to "turn off" cookies so that we cannot collect this information. You can do that through your web browser (check the HELP option on the menu bar) or via utilities that are on the market today to let you browse the Web anonymously. If you choose to turn off cookies, certain features of our Web site will not function, such as our catalog pages and shopping.

2. How will we use your personal information that we collect?

The voluntary information you provide us with allows us to enhance your shopping experience. We may use it to send you news items you have requested, send you money-saving coupons, or let you know when we are having a sale or promotion. The most basic uses of your information will simply be to ship your merchandise you purchased online, bill your credit card for purchases, respond to emails you send us, and confirm orders. Always remember that at any time, you may remove yourself from our communications to you.

Contest Information: Contact information collected on this site during a contest may be used to send you information about our company, as well as some promotional materials. This information is also used to contact contest winners. We do not share this information with third parties. Additionally, there is a box on all contest forms that allows you to opt-out of receiving any further information about this contest.

We often receive e-mails from customers or interested parties that request information. We respond as quickly and effectively as we can and do not share the content or address information with third parties.

3. Who do we share your information with?

We do not share your information with anyone else outside of the Learning Express family. It's as simple at that. Learning Express does not sell, rent, or share our customers' personal information with any outside sources. Our site does collect demographic and profile information, but it is used internally, to tailor your visit to Learning Express. This information helps us deliver content and products specific to your interests and needs.
We may disclose personal information when required by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property or safety of this Web site, our users, or others.

If our policy ever changes, you will receive notice when information about you might go to a third party and you will have the ability to choose not to share this information.

4. How you can choose what types of marketing information we communicate to you?

When you Sign-Up with us, you told us you would like to receive on-line newsletters from us. You also had the option to add your mailing address so that your local store may send you catalogs or sale information by mail. If you no longer wish to receive information from Learning Express, you may cancel your subscription by going to "Sign Up!" in the black wave on our home page and use the "Remove" button at the bottom of the screen to remove yourself from our database. Simply enter your e-mail address and click REMOVE. Anytime you wish to be added to our database to receive information again, simply Sign-Up again.

5. How do we protect your information?

To prevent unauthorized access to our system, we have put in place all the appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect on line.

Learning Express protects your personal financial information by encrypting it with Verity software, an industry approved method. We then provide your credit card information to a third party credit card processing agency that has additional security measures in place.
To be sure no one can read the communications between our customers and us during transmission, we use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software. These are standard capabilities on Netscape Navigator (version 2.0 and above), AOL (3.0 and higher), and Microsoft Explorer (3.0 and higher).

6. Your Children's Security

Protecting the privacy and safety of children is a number one priority to Learning Express. We encourage you to participate in your children's adventures on the Internet and to monitor their activities here. We will not collect on-line contact information from children without parental consent or notification. At anytime, parents may prevent the use of information or participation in an activity. Without a parent's okay, we will only respond directly to a child's request and not use that information for any other purposes.

During children's contests, Learning Express collects the child's first name, the first initial of the last name, age, zip code, e-mail address, and essay information. We ask for the child's age in order to judge each essay fairly. We request zip code information to determine the geographical locations of visitors to our site. Information collected from children for contests is deleted from the database thirty days after the contest concludes.

Learning Express also requires a parent's name and e-mail address for all kids' contests. A confirmation e-mail is immediately sent to parents when children register for an on-line kids' contest. If parents do not want their children to participate, they may simply reply to the e-mail and their children will be removed from the contest pool.

Information collected from children is used solely to administer the contest. This information is not shared with any third parties. Learning Express uses the e-mail addresses to announce contest winners.

We will also post the changes in our privacy statement 30 days prior to a change.
